CHAMBER MUSIC ATHENS 2026

Dear Chamber Music Athens community,

Thank you for joining us in May 2024! We had an unforgettable 10 days, and you can relive the programming by browsing the Archive section of this website. Also, many thanks to those who came to the concert in Atlanta in March 2025 featuring Atlanta Symphony musicians.

Chamber Music Athens will return for the full festival between May 10-19, 2026! Concert details will be posted in early 2026.

We are thrilled to begin announcing our guest artists: the phenomenal Ying String Quartet (Eastman School of Music), an ensemble that is in its third decade of touring; brilliant pianist and chamber musician Ieva Jokubaviciute (Duke University), a member of the Marlboro Music Festival community and duo partner to the violinist Midori; radiant Atlanta-based jazz vocalist Ilona Knopfler, and more to be announced.

Among many exciting initiatives this season, we are excited to launch a new alumni program. CMA Academy is a crucial part of the festival, and we are elated to welcome back violist Joy Hsieh and violinist Ian Jones who have been a part of CMA since its beginning in 2019, as well as pianist Jieun Lee, alumna of 2022 who contributed so much to the HHSOM community. We are very proud of Joy, Ian, and Jieun’s accomplishments and will share more about them in the coming months.

While we will not be revealing concert details for a little while longer, we are thrilled to share that the traditional Mother’s Day festival opener will be free this year. Save the date: May 10, 2026 at First Baptist Church. And we are particularly excited to be able to present a special concert for Athens Clarke-County public schools on May 14, 2026 with transportation provided by the county.

Other concerts will take place for the first time in the Atrium at the State Botanical Garden, and we look forward to returning to the UGA Performing Arts Center, the historic UGA Chapel, and the Georgia Museum of Art.

Stay tuned for more updates and SEE YOU IN MAY!
